Dr. Drew Wants Charlie Sheen Committed
OK, Little Man?
Dr. Drew loves speaking out on train-wreck celebrities. Of course, there's no bigger train-wreck right now that Charlie Sheen. And Dr. Drew is convinced Sheen needs to be committed. Well, Charlie Sheen has a few words for Dr. Drew.

Dr. Drew thinks it's pretty obvious Charlie Sheen needs help... Even if he doesn't know him in real life. The other night, Drew told Joy Behar, "It's funny to me that people somehow believe that you have to know a patient intimately to understand they have a medical condition... It's really, for me, no different than looking at a rash."
And Charlie Sheen has been quite the rash lately! While some would say Sheen's antics are all an act, Dr. Drew seems to know exactly what's wrong with him. He claims, "It's somebody who uncharacteristically has a grandiose belief that they have special powers, there's a torrent of speech, distractibility, flight of ideas, seemingly endless energy, hyper sexuality... those are all a criteria for a condition called hypomania. It simply defines what hypomania is."
I can't say I disagree with Dr. Drew. That sounds exactly like Charlie! Even if Sheen is "clean" now, something is most definitely wrong with him. And Dr. Drew emphasises the fact that Sheen probably doesn't want to do drugs in this state because he "feels high all the time." And acts like it, too!
.
So, what's Dr. Drew's best advice for Charlie Sheen? He tells Today he believes Charlie Sheen should be put into a "5150, an involuntary hold... He would benefit from hospitalization if somebody could get through to him." But that's doubtful, right? Most hypomanic patients don't believe they have a problem or need help.

Oh, you know Charlie Sheen has a response to Dr. Drew, right? A pretty mean one, too. Sheen tells Los Angeles radio station K-Earth 101 Live, "I think me and Pinsky should jump in the ring and he can see how unstable these fists of flaming fury really are... I'll show you how unstable I am. Bring it! Bring it little man."
Little man? Oh boy, I think Charlie Sheen just proved Dr. Drew's point.
