LimeLife: Patti, what is the biggest mistake that you're seeing women make with men right now?

Patti Stanger: It's TMI - too much information. It's the standard operating procedure: you get two cocktails into you and you pump-and-dump all your life story, and even if he thought you were pretty, by the time he comes home and processes his wish list against yours, you don't get the call even though he said he was going to call. It's because you revealed too much. Just because he bought you dinner doesn't mean that A) you have to tell him your whole life story, B) you have to sleep with him, or C) you have to be so indebted to him that you're gonna give away the farm.

LimeLife: It's so true, women feel a sense of debt to guys just because they're kind to us - when they should be!

Patti Stanger: I've seen a lot of women making more money for men, and they figure because the guy is cute and hot, I'm gonna buy him dinner. I'm gonna call him. I'm gonna make the move.

LimeLife: And making the first move is a no-no.

Patti Stanger: Okay -- I do not believe in women making the first move. When you're going into romantic endeavors like a bar situation or a party, and you see a hot guy, you can always signal him with a smile. If you do that and he doesn't come over, he's not your guy! He's either gay, he's involved with somebody else, or you're just not his type.

LimeLife: What about the guys we've dated and were certain we felt a connection?

Patti Stanger: You've gotta move on! Stop dwelling on the guy who, in your soul, you knew he was the one, you felt it, you even, like, spent past lives together. And you're like "Why didn't he like me?" Move on!

LimeLife: Okay, so what is the biggest mistake you're seeing men make with women right now?

Patti Stanger: There are actually two mistakes. The first one is when they get the number they hold onto it too long. They'll see a girl a month ago, and call her today, and she's like, "Who are you?" He's hooking up with her at the last minute, which totally is ill-mannered. You must call a girl by Wednesday for the weekend if not even earlier.

LimeLife: And the second biggest mistake from guys?

Patti Stanger: Men are not huntering any more. They're going up to women at bars and saying, "Here's my business card, you call me." Or "You make money, you should pay for my dinner." I'm like, What the eff, who turned off the masculine light and put on the feminine energy in the male? We don't want the metro-sexual. He's an urban myth. We don't want you crying in your soup, telling me how you had a hard day at work. We just want you to be a man, strong, be there to listen and have our back. We want you to be the man. Where are the wood choppers?
