EXCLUSIVE! Slash's Wife Perla Hudson on Being the Good Wife

She's the vixen who's married to the man Time Magazine voted in 2009 as the second-best electric guitar player of all time...but she's not the typical rocker's wife. Slash's longtime love Perla Ferrar Hudson ("It's fur-AIR," she specifies, while Slash's given name is Saul Hudson) talked with LimeLife's celeb editor about proper romantic pursuit, healthy living and marital patience at PokerStars.net's North American Poker Tour last week at the ritzy Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas. Perla Ferrar Hudson -- the walking goddess with gorgeous hair, incredible legs, and the sexiest, throatiest voice you've ever heard -- has tolerated Slash's uber-high profile for nearly two whole decades since they met. Their fishbowl entourage will grow more intense  this summer when Slash's new album SLASH & Friends comes out (featuring stars like Fergie and Ozzy Osbourne). Go anywhere Slash is present -- like a lot of PokerStars.net events -- and Perla is a loyal presence at his side. So are the fans who seek him out, at quantities that would easily beat out Robert Pattinson and Tiger Woods if they were in the same venue. Plus, Slash plays poker...just how does Perla stay patient?

LimeLife: Perla Hudson, you are so intriguing to us. You're married to one of the most famous rockers in history. Can you tell us a bit about how you approach being a wife?

Perla Ferrar Hudson: Well, I'm very patient, yet I know how to put my foot down when I need to. I think the key to our relationship-because we've been together for 13 years-is a lot of respect, a lot of patience, and I know that I'm in it for the long haul with him. So I'm not gonna flip out on something small. I pick my battles, as does he, and we have such a respect for each other, and admiration...and love, most of all.

LimeLife: How did you and Slash meet?

Perla Ferrar Hudson: Backstage at a Guns n' Roses show 17 years ago.

LimeLife: YES! That was the dream answer!

(Perla laughs.)

LimeLife: Did you two begin dating right away?

Perla Ferrar Hudson: Well...we weren't technically dating, but we had flings over the years. It wasn't until 13 years ago that we hooked up and we haven't left each other's side ever since.

LimeLife: When did you know that Slash was the man you were going to marry?

Perla Ferrar Hudson: I knew before I saw him. And I wasn't into rock music or anything. I'm Cuban, I was into the whole salsa thing, but I knew...there was something about him. It wasn't because of who he was necessarily; it was just a very chemical attraction. And he had it with me is well. So I knew then, but timing is everything, so we both did our wild things and we met again four years later. And here we are.

(Slash approaches us and I inform him that Perla and I are talking about what an awesome wife he has. He smiles and says, "Oh yeah?" before another journalist approaches him. Perla continues with our conversation, not missing a beat.)

LimeLife: And you have two sons together?

Perla Ferrar Hudson: Two little boys, London and Cash.

LimeLife: I noticed Slash walking around at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in the Bahamas in January with his "London" tattoo across his back.

Perla Ferrar Hudson: And he's got Perla on his arm. (She gestures to her inner forearm.)

LimeLife: Awesome! No wonder, look at you. How do you stay so gorgeous, especially after two kids?

Perla Ferrar Hudson: The truth of the matter is...right now I have two girdles on. I have double.

LimeLife: (I crack up.) I have spanks on too!

Perla Ferrar Hudson: (Laughs.) I buy the Brazilian ones in downtown L.A., and I just did a juicing and raw food diet for a week. So I'll go through periods of that, but then I'll drink and eat and I'll destroy it all. But thank you for saying I look lovely!

LimeLife: Actually, you're phenomenal.
