We reported on Simon Cowell's awkward kiss with his new fiancee on The Tonight Show Monday. Looks like the affection made Ellen DeGeneres feel the love too, as she snuggled up on Simon's lap to kick off this week's American Idol. Today, everyone's buzzing, and we have video.

Ellen DeGeneres took to Simon's lap and nuzzled against his cheek after Ryan Seacrest announced this week's female performers on American Idol. As the competition whittles down to the Top 12, the affection is heating up between two Idol judges. Ha!

Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi laugh blatantly at the DeGeneres-Cowell PDA. When Seacrest goes to introduce Ellen and Simon as judges around the 1:20 mark, Simon says, "This is quite uncomfortable." Ellen jumps off his lap and says, "I didn't know we started, I'm so sorry!"

It took a minute to put it together, but clearly Ellen was poking fun at Simon Cowell's fiancee Mezhgan Hussainy, whom you can watch give a forced kiss to Simon in front of Jay Leno right here.
