Ellen DeGeneres Signs NBC Sitcom Deal
Ellen DeGeneres to Exec Produce New Sitcom
With her tenth season of her eponymous sitcom underway,Ellen DeGeneres is getting back into the sitcom business, signing a deal with NBC.
DeGeneres won't, however, be seen in front of the camera, but will serve executive producer.
DeGeneres is busy enough with her wildly popular daytime talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, to star in another series.

NBC has ordered the show, which is yet to be titled, that follows a 32-year-old single woman.
One of DeGeneres' talk show producers, Lauren Pomerantz, will write and executive produce the series through DeGeneres' A Very Good Production company.
The Hollywood Reporter describes the premise as follows: "The series will center on an independent 32-year-old woman who, upon being listed as "single" while signing papers for a house, enters crisis mode and wonders if she's made the right decision in being on her own."
There's no word on casting for the series just yet.

DeGeneres just enjoyed the best ratings for her talk show since 2003, as she recently kicked off her 10th season.
