Ellen Degeneres Replacing Paula Abdul on American Idol

We almost feel sorry for Paula Abdul! After all, it doesn't seem like anyone is going to miss her very much on the upcoming season of American Idol. Ellen Degeneres is taking her place as a judge and we have a feeling Ellen is going to be amazing!

Are you excited by the news that Ellen Degeneres is going to be replacing Paula Abdul?

While we're pretty happy, we're also wondering how this will impact the show. How will Simon Cowell act? After all, we can totally see him being a jerk and Ellen just making fun of him. It was cute when Paula did it because she was so bad at it, but Ellen's great at making fun at people. Will Simon get mad?

Also, Ellen is not a music expert at all. She says, "Hopefully I'm the people's point of view because I'm just like you. I sit at home and I watch it and I don't have that technical . . . I'm not looking at it in a critical way from the producer's mind. I'm looking at it as a person who is going to buy the music and is going to relate to that person." On the one hand, we think it's great to have the people's point of view, but on the other hand, aren't the American voters the people's point of view?

Overall, though, we think Ellen will be an awesome addition to the cast of judges and we can't wait for the new season of American Idol to start!
