Ellen Pompeo Gives Birth to Baby Girl

Bring on the pink!

Ellen Pompeo, the actress who plays surgeon Meredith Grey on the popular ABC medical drama Grey's Anatomy, gave birth to a daughter on September 15th in Los Angeles.

Pompeo, 39, and her husband, record producer Chris Ivery, welcomed their baby girl last Tuesday. Her name is Stella Luna Pompeo Ivery.

The couple have been the talk of the town ever since announcing their pregnancy in April. They originally started dating after being introduced by a friend at a Whole Foods Market in 2003. After dating a few years, they were married in 2007 with New York mayor Michael Bloomberg serving as the witness.

Pompeo's daughter comes on the heels of other baby news from Seattle Grace Hospital. Co-star Katherine Heigl just announced her adoption of a baby girl from South Korea, and Chyler Leigh, who plays Dr. Lexie on the show, gave birth to her own baby girl back in May.
