Elton John Considering Retirement, Another Baby

Elton John has had a long career, but it looks like he may be retiring to spend time with his son -- and possibly another baby.

John is daddy to a 2-year-old son, Zachary, but he wants to have another child too. Music may have to take a backseat for awhile.

John and partner David Furnish had their son via a surrogate mother, and childhood is too precious to be constantly working if you don't really need the paycheck.

John noted, "I don't want to miss part of his childhood."

He doesn't expect to retire just yet, however, as he says he'll continue working until Zachary goes to school before reconsidering.

John shared, "While I'm feeling good, I'm going to keep working. When Zachary goes to school, that's another different thing.?????? I want to take him to school and I want to pick him up. I don't want to miss that part of his childhood," Perezitos.com reports.

As for a second child, he said, "When it's time, we probably will. I'm now the happiest I've ever been."

John is 66, he's been in the music game a long time, and he's earned the right to enjoy some time off and his family.

He can always throw in the one-off appearance or special concert without having to go full-on tour mode.

He tells USA Today, "I'm the luckiest guy in the world. t's been a joyride ... I have a child, which I thought I'd never have. And my life is a constant delight."

Of his son, John says Zachary "has brought to David and me the most incredible pleasure, and he's brought us the most incredible sense of responsibility and love," adding, "He comes with us everywhere. He loves traveling. He loves people ... He's just a happy-natured boy."
