Estee Lauder Joins Neue Galerie for Beauty Collaboration
Estee Lauder x Neue Galerie Beauty Collaboration
Do you devour old movies, vintage clothes, and art nouveau posters? I do! When I read about Estee Lauder's new collaboration with the Neue Galerie, I knew we were going to see something interesting. Open up your sparkly clutch purses, 'cause this beauty collaboration is going to fit inside beautifully.
If you're not familiar with the Neue Galerie, here's the background: the Manhattan museum explores German and Austrian art from the early twentieth century. They collect, preserve, research, and exhibit work from artists like Gustav Klimt and Otto Wagner. Angular, inspirational, colorful, romantic... the Estee Lauder collection is a genius pick for a cosmetic company collab.
Then again, it's not exactly a surprise. Ronald S. Lauder was the co-founder of the Neue Gallery, so this was an expected move from fan of both the beauty line and the museum. Estee Lauder will deliver two limited-edition products inspired by Bauhaus art, and artist Otto Dix in particular. One lipstick, priced at $30, will be available in "Berlin Red," with a compact available for $55.
If you feel the pull to purchase, the products are currently available at the Neue Galerie's gift shop. Since Dix's work combined bold colors with sensual subjects, the bullet-shaped lipstick case and the selection of bright red as a palette and design option feels very apropos.
Do you ever purchase collector's sets or collaborations for cosmetics or jewelry?
