Eva Longoria is one of the most beautiful women in the world, so why has an Italian magazine committed a major Photoshop fail on the actress?

Longoria is so airbrushed, she looks unrecognizable on the cover of Amica magazine.

In fact, Longoria ends up looking more like her Desperate Housewives co-star Teri Hatcher than herself.

It's interesting the magazine decided to manipulate Longoria that much -- even lightening her usual bronze skin -- given her natural beauty and Maxim Hot 100 status.

Longoria also appears to have had her cheek bones accentuated and her nose even looks like it was tweaked a bit.

Also? What is she holding in the cover pic? Has that fruit been airbrushed beyond recognition too?

Has Longoria had plastic surgery or is it a definite Photoshop failure? She told OK! Magazine recently that she had no interest in surgery, noting, "I'm terrified of needles and knives ... No thank you."
