Eva Longoria's New Lesbian Love Scene (VIDEO)
Will Longoria's Long-Shot Score?
Eva Longoria has taken an odd new career turn in a Latin-inspired film about a town with no men. In the ironically (?) titled Without Men, not only does Longoria speak with an uncomfortable Mexican accent; she also engages in a woman-on-woman love scene that's said to have caused some awkwardness between Longoria and her co-star. Will Longoria's wacky attempt to be funny also cause awkwardness in her career?
Eva Longoria's life over the past year has been unpredictable. In January she sudenly divorced San Antonio Spurs player Tony Parker just two months after she discovered he'd been carrying on a sexting affair with a teammate's wife during his three-year marriage to Longoria. As we always do when a star we like is scorned, we really hoped to see Longoria take on a triumphant post-divorce role that showcased and challenged her talent...not some goofy chicken coop film with an unclever script and a storyline that would never happen.
However, that's just the move Longoria made. Now she stars in Without Men, a film about the women in a Latin American village who pull themselves up by their boostraps when all the village's men are forcibly recruited by communist guerrillas. In the film, Longoria emerges as the leader who steps into the role of mayor and demands for the other women to respond to their challenges in the same way the town's men would.
What that entails? Based on the trailer, learning to shoot guns and fulfilling each other sexually -- Longoria engages in a steamed-up (and somewhat slapstick) sex scene with her co-star, Kate del Castillo. Director Gabriela Tagliavini said that while Longoria was enthused about the role, she and del Castillo found themselves in a state of embarrassment during filming: "It was a little difficult as the two girls are both straight so they were very nervous and laughed a lot." But, adds Tagliavini, "I think that just made it even lovelier ... it was all very sensual, both are very beautiful women aside from being incredibly funny."

But in this trailer, does Longoria make you chuckle for the reasons she intended, or is the whole thing just a joke? It'll be interesting to see how the financials fare, but indeed Longoria could get the last laugh: with a reported budget of $4.7 million, the film's payoff is likely to come from the loads of international distro rights it's sold to more than a dozen foreign countries, including Argentina, Greece, South Africa, Switzerland and even the Middle East.
Would you pay $10.50 and a popcorn to see Eva Longoria kiss a girl and like it? (And, do you think Tony Parker will?)
