Facebook and Google Rev Up Music Features
Finding new music just got easier.
Social media site Facebook and web search giant Google are about to make your quest for music a whole lot easier -- both are planning the introduction of major additions to their music services.
According to the New York Times, and their anonymous source, Google is expected to announce at an upcoming event at the Capitol Records building in Los Angeles that it will soon offer users a new, easier, more efficient way of finding music.
According to the tipster, Google wants to provide users who search for particular music with a sample song of at least 30 seconds, and sometimes even the entire thing. These clips will be provided by streaming music sites like Imeem, Lala and iLike.
Facebook also wants to provide some music options to its users. According to a spokeswoman from the biggest social networking site in the world, the Palo Alto-based company is adding music features to its gift store. So instead of those dinky 10-cent images you will soon be able to buy songs and play them online or add them to a music player.
