Fans: Kate Winslet is Rude and Nasty
Actress Reportedly Snubbed More Than 100 Fans On Her Way To Movie Set
Kate Winslet usually receives raves for being approachable, but dozens of Massachusetts residents would beg to differ.
The Titanic star is currently on location in Shelburne Falls, Ma., where she's working for the new movie Labor Day (alongside Josh Brolin and Dawson's Creek star James Van Der Beek). When residents heard that Winslet was going to be in their town, more than 100 of them congregated around the set, in anticipation of her arrival. However, when she didn't approach or acknowledge the crowd several of the residents swarmed to tabloid Star Magazine to speak out on the Finding Neverland actress's snub.

"She was just plain nasty. Kate was only on set for a short time and jumped back in her Cadillac and took off, without even a wave or thank you or a smile for us," said Shanna Swan, a fan of Winslet that felt personally offended by the star's supposedly selfish actions.
"She always plays such warm people on the big screen, I thought she would be kind, so when she was mean, I was crushed," said the fan. "I watched The Titantic 13 times when I was 12 years old, and Kate wouldn't even look up for a second to acknowledge we were all adoring her."

Though it would be one thing if Winslet said disparaging remarks to the crowd, perhaps the residents shouldn't be so offended that she didn't have time to acknowledge them, as she was on her way to her job. Though the audience is extremely important to the film business, as they're responsible for the massive paydays that actors and actresses receive, maybe they should realize that Winslet is actually a human being, who can have a bad day or maybe even some personal problems that she may have been dealing with. After all, the amount of times that you've seen Titanic really shouldn't count as a badge of honor nowadays, nor should it grant you personal access to Winslet.
