Fred Armisen, Abby Elliott Dating After His Split From Elisabeth Moss

We were shocked to learn earlier this week that "SNL" great Fred Armisen had split with his wife of less than a year, Elisabeth Moss of "Mad Men." Turns out Armisen had another relationship ready for action...with Abby Elliott his co-star who's 20 years his junior.

Forty-three-year-old Fred Armisen married 28-year-old Elisabeth Moss in October 2009, and the pair separated just seven months later, this past May. Word about the split got out only this week, and we may have some insight as to why Armisen and Moss are heading toward divorce.

Looks like younger actresses may be Fred Armisen's thing. He's now said to be dating Abby Elliott, his 23-year-old "SNL" co-star who's the daughter of comedian Chris Elliott. Our friends at Celebuzz report that Armisen and Elliott have been "ramping up" a relationship in the last few months, and it's not clear when the work romance began.

"Life & Style" reports that Fred Armisen and Abby Elliott only began dating in the last couple months, as Armisen relied on Elliott as a confidante throughout his split with Elisabeth Moss. Apparently Fred "sought comfort in Abby. They just started dating a few months ago ... Fred and Abby are getting to know each other in a romantic way and taking things very slowly but enjoying each other's company."

Meanwhile a friend of Elisabeth Moss says that this news would hardly make Moss jealous: she's "doing great," says the friend, "and focused on 'Mad Men' and is enjoying the single life. This news won't even phase her."
