Gabriel Aubry May Take Baby Nahla To Canada

Halle Berry's ex furious about media firestorm.

We reported this weekend that Halle Berry's just-fresh-ex-boyfriend had asked Halle for the property that they shared together in Aubry's native Canada. Turns out that Aubry may have needed the home to make a quick getaway with their two-year-old daughter, Nahla, as a report reveals that he's fleeing from the news explosion about his split from Halle.

Radar first reported the story, in which they explain that Gabriel Aubry is upset that he's being portrayed as too poor to take care of Nahla. A source has said, "Gabriel has always been there 100 percent for his daughter, he would do absolutely anything for her. He may not earn what Halle does but he still makes a great living as a model, pulling in around $700,000 a year."

The source continued, "Gabriel is not happy at how he is being portrayed, as some kind of dead beat dad that was living off of Halle and her celebrity. It couldn't be any further from the truth." Apparently Aubry believes that Halle's people are the ones who are relaying this negative misinformation about him to the press.

As a result, while the custody talks between him and Halle Berry have been reported as amicable up to now, it sounds as though Aubry is ready to roll up his sleeves and get dirty. It's reported he may even take Nahla to Canada: "Gabriel is currently weighing up his options, and is seriously considering challenging the custody agreement that he has with Halle, splitting the care giving of Nahla 50/50. Gabriel is concerned about the craziness surrounding their breakup and he's concerned about the effect it is having on Nahla."

The source continued, "[Gabriel] is also concerned that he's being bad mouthed by Halle's people, when he's done nothing to deserve that. If things don't calm down soon, Gabriel is going to really consider his options, and one of those is to fight to take Nahla to Canada to live with him as the primary care giver."
