What do George Clooney and the New Moon cast have in common? They love Italian women.

And they're encouraging their American fratelli to take a look at why. Elisabetta Canalis, the Italian model whom George Clooney has been traipsing around Portofino and showing off on red carpets, has finally introduced herself to the American male audience -- and let's just say she seems like a real friendly lady.

Of course the guys at Maxim are having a heart-attack worse than Tony Soprano with a meatball hoagie over Canalis -- they said, "Known throughout her native Italy as La Canalis or Eli (which we're pretty sure translates to 'so freakin' hot she makes you want to punch yourself in the prosciutto')."

Nice, fellas. Although we used to live in Italy, and seeing this woman's effect on American men is pretty entertaining. Hey, what was that! Damn, we just tripped over Clooney's tongue.
