George Michael Returns to His Slickly Edited/Hot Supermodel Video Ways

Will his Song + Supermodel Recipe For Success Work Once Again?

It looks like George Michael is set to make a comeback using the gimmick that helped make him one of the biggest pop stars of the late ‘80's and early ‘90's. Take one part hot song, add one part world-famous supermodel, mix well and, voila, you've got a bona fide hit on your hands.

Before all his substance abuse issues and arrests, Michael was one of the world's top music icons. His 1988 album Faith won that year's Grammy for Record of the Year, but it was the video for his 1990 single "Freedom" that really set the world on fire. Set against Michael's vocals, five of the world's most famous beauties - including a scantily clad Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista and Tatjana Patitz - writhed sexily in front of the camera. He used the same ingredients for his 1992 follow-up smash, "Too Funky," which featured Evangelista along with Tyra Banks and several other top models of their time.

Now, Kate Moss is taking her turn at bat as one of Michael's video vixens. Michael, who's currently working on his comeback, just released a 20-second tease of his new video for "White Light," in which Moss makes a sexy cameo.The full video will debut on July 17.

Moss says she was tickled by the opportunity. "I wasn't in the ‘Freedom' video, I just missed it," she has said in the past. "That would have been amazing."

For his part, Michael, now 49, is hoping the song - and Moss' spot - will put him back on the charts. "The video you are waiting for is choc full of serious eye candy," he tweeted. "And believe it or not, I'm not talking about me."
