Gerard Butler Blasts his way Through 'Gamer'

Gerard Butler has returned to his hard-bodied, shoot-em-up ways. The 300 star is all buff and ready for action in the new action thriller, Gamer, about a man forced to fight in order to gain his freedom.

The year is 2034, where mind-control is rampant and the general public has an insatiable lust for bloody sport. A new game called "Slayers" becomes popular, because it allows people to control the minds of death row prisoners and have them fight to the death.

Kable (Butler) and his handler (Logan Lerman) are the highest ranked combatants in the game and only need to win three more matches to earn Kable freedom. Can they do it, or is the game just rigged to lose?

The film opens today with expectations high from both video game fans and action movie lovers. So whichever one's your fancy, expect to be blown away at theaters this weekend.
