Get It Up, Then Down - Heart to Heart
Maybe you should stop watching Friday Night Lights.
That is, if your heart beats faster every time you spy Taylor Kitsch in HD on your flat-screen. Researchers in England recently found that a woman’s heart rate can help predict her risk of heart attack or heart disease.
The study showed that women with higher resting heart rates were 26% more likely to experience a heart attack or die of heart disease than ladies with slower beating hearts.
Since heart disease is the world’s leading cause of death, this proves to be quite a handy and cheap way of monitoring both your heart and your health.
What else can you do to prevent HD? Keep your blood pressure and cholesterol levels low, don’t light up, and don’t binge drink.
Also, the best way to lower your heart rate is to increase it. Confused? Don’t be. The more physically fit the woman, the lower her resting heart rate.
So next time you indulge in a little FNL, why not include some free weights or a balance ball? Sweatin' to the Oldies might be a classic, but sweatin' to the hotties could just what the doctor ordered!
