Gillian Anderson Hints at new 'X-Files' Movie
The truth is out there.
Back in the '90s, The X-Files was one of the coolest shows on television. Alien autopsies, telepathic powers, government conspiracies -- the show had it all. Now, after two films, a third may be in the works.
Gillian Anderson, who played FBI agent Dana Scully, was at the Sarajevo Film Festival recently when she expressed a desire to return to the role that made her famous.
"I feel a commitment to that group of people I worked with and we still enjoy doing it," she said. "If they can pull it off, we'll find a reason to make it."
David Duchovny, who played Scully's longtime partner, Agent Mulder, also made it clear how much he enjoys the X-Files franchise. After the most recent film, X-Files: I Want to Believe, came out in 2008, he hoped it would be a hit so he could come back and play Mulder again.
"Coming back was always something I wanted to do," he said. "I would love to follow Mulder as he got older and older."
So in the meantime, try to keep your excitement on ice. Anderson said filming probably won't start until 2012.
