'Girls Gone Wild' Honcho Joe Francis Loses $20 Million Defamation Suit Against Steve Wynn
Jury Finds No Proof Wynn Threatened His Life
Girls may love pulling up their shirts for him, but Joe Francis failed to impress the jury presiding over his court battle against Las Vegas bigwig Steve Wynn. Wynn had sued Francis for defamation after Francis, who has a reputation for being a loose cannon, publicly declared that Wynn had threatened to kill him and have him buried in the desert over an unpaid gambling debt.
Wynn denied the charges, calling Francis "unrepentant, vicious and out of control."
Yesterday, Wynn won the case, with the jury awarding Wynn $20 million in damages.
Testimony from music mogul Quincy Jones had a part in helping seal the deal. Francis had subpoenaed him as a witness, claiming Jones had heard Wynn's threat - but when he was called to the stand, Jones says he never heard such a thing.

It's not the first time Wynn and Francis faced off in court. In 2010, Francis claimed Wynn plied him with booze and strippers, eventually causing him to lose two million at the casino. Francis eventually won that case.
And while there's no doubt Francis is rich, that $20 million has got to hurt. A word of advice, Joe: Next time you head to Vegas, don't stay in a Wynn hotel.
