God Gets You Good Grades
Higher power = Higher GPA
God makes you smarter. A new study suggests that church-going students do better in school than their heathen counterparts.
The study (conducted by a non-religious academic group) reports that students who attend religious services weekly average a GPA .144 higher than those who never attend services.
Suggested reasons for the divine grade spike:
- More contact with adults who serve as role models.
- Parents who communicate with friends' parents.
- Friends who have similar "norms and values" (whatever that means).
- More likely to do extracurricular over-achiever stuff.
Get God and get better grades. Or just study harder. Make up for those all-nighters by sleeping in on Sunday.
