Gucci's 3D Glasses Are Coming for the Holidays

Earlier this year, we reported that 3D glasses would soon be gaining in popularity. And now Gucci has their brand new 3D glasses set to come out in December, just in time for the holidays. If you've been checking out a lot of 3D movies lately, you might just want to consider getting a pair!

There's absolutely no denying that Gucci makes some of the best-quality, stylish sunglasses around. So, when it comes to shopping for that first pair of 3D glasses, you may as well go with the best, right? Or is it just too soon in the technology to be adding 3D glasses to your Christmas list?

Well, Inside Edition might be able to scare you into buying a pair of 3D glasses! They just issued a report saying, "3-D glasses are a hot spot for germs. The major way viruses are spread is through your eyes. So certainly when you're putting these glasses near your eyes you want to make sure nothing is on them."

Ew! Just like you wouldn't want to borrow a pair of sunglasses 300 people have worn before you, you probably shouldn't be wearing 3D glasses that have been worn by so many random people. But is that enough to make you head to your nearest Gucci boutique and shell out $250 for these?

Gucci has issued a release saying the glasses will have a "pilot-shaped plastic aviator in shiny black [which] features an eighties retro sensibility... The lenses will contain a high-tech, multilayered mirrored coating which allows the wearer to view themselves in a mirror without distortion."

Well, at least you can still see yourself in the mirror with the 3D glasses! I think I'll wait a couple more years, until all movies are being made in 3D and I have a 3D television in my home. Then I'll happily buy a pair of designer 3D glasses. You?
