Gwen Stefani Creates Clothing Line For 'Target' [POLL]
Harajuku Fashion Knows No Price Boundries
There’s No Doubt that Gwen Stefani’s two boys are some fashion forward pre-schoolers. With a seriously chic Momma, who owns fashion lines L.A.M.B and Harajuku Lovers, style really runs in the blood of Kingston and Zuma Rossdale. But if, like most kids, your own little monsters are prone to drooling chocolate down the front of their designer togs, Stefani is here to help with her wallet friendly collection, Harajuku Mini for kids.
Poll: What Do You Think Of Kingston's Big Blue Mohawk?
Just like mommy Madonna and her affordable Macy’s collection, Stefani is teaming up with Target to create a cheap and cheerful range of clothes for babies, children and young teenagers. Speaking to WWD, Stefani gushed:
"Harajuku Mini is a dream come true. I've always wanted to do a cool children's fashion line inspired by the supercute and playful kid's clothing you find in Japan. The whole idea is about being creative, expressing your own individuality and having fun getting dressed. Target has given me the creative freedom to design kid's clothing that is different than most anything you usually see out there with great quality, attention to detail and most of all, available at amazing prices."

The Harajuku Mini line should hit stores in November 2011, with prices ranging from $3.99 to $29.99 (giving a new meaning to the phrase “I wish they made this in my size”). Of course, Stefani isn’t the first celeb, and certainly won’t be the last, to launch collections at high street megastores. In the past, Anna Sui, Justin Timberlake, and Demi Lovato, have all cashed in on their names at Target, while a number of other chains, from H&M to Walmart, have played host to anyone who’s walked the red carpet.
Personally, I think it’s great when A-listers decide to design for the budgets of their fans, as opposed to designing for their co-stars and bank balance (here’s looking at you Olsen twins and The Row); but what do you think? Is the hint of a celebrity name more, or less, likely to part you from your cash when it comes to buying a new ensemble? Take our poll and let us know.
