Gwyneth Paltrow Gets Hollywood Walk of Fame Star
Gwyneth strikes glamour on Hollywood Boulevard.
Gwyneth Paltrow was honored Monday with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Here's why she totally deserved it, who else was there to celebrate...and why Gwyneth Paltrow's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is just a little controversial.
Something we just learned: celebs are actually having to pay for their own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame these days, and we're thinking it was actually Screen Gems, the production company for Paltrow's upcoming "Country Strong," that shelled out the cash to raise some buzz for the film's January 7 release. This especially appears to be the case since her co-star Tim McGraw was on-hand for the ceremony.
In any case, Gwyneth Paltrow comes from Hollywood royalty: who can argue that she's way overdue for a star on the Walk? She won the Best Actress Oscar for 1998's "Shakespeare in Love," and has appeared in such mega-features as "Iron Man," "Proof" and "The Royal Tannenbaums." Good heavens, committee: give this woman her sidewalk space already!
Gwyneth was lean and leggy in a white lace dress and gorgeous, strappy pink heels. She's catching some flack for her no-fuss hair and makeup, but this woman is the epitome of the wholesome, classic beauty -- often with Gwyneth, less fuss is best.

And we can't help but wonder: why wasn't hubby Chris Martin in any of the pics? Gwyneth wore her diamond ring to show the world they're still together...but sometimes this looks like the least-glued marriage in entertainment. There's buzz that Gwyneth Paltrow's star on the Walk of Fame was simply the studio's reminder to the world that indeed she's still working...it'll be interesting to see how publicity surrounding her personal life blows up closer to January.
