We can't imagine why all the world perceives Gwyneth Paltrow as inaccessible. I mean, every married mom you know poses in nothing but fishnets and Louis Vuitton jewelry for an ad campaign in Vanity Fair, right?

Gwyneth Paltrow has spent all of 2011 wondering aloud why the public just doesn't relate to her anymore. We simply can't imagine why we find Paltrow so impossible to grasp, given her latest GOOP newsletter in which she recommends silent retreats and 90 minutes of yoga a day for EveryWoman to release stress. Pardon me, but what does Paltrow know about the realities of EveryWoman's life?

OK, she looks beautiful, but this ad certainly doesn't help her homegirl campaign. Fan-friendly stars have a way of making their admirers feel as close as friends. Do your 38-year-old friends with two kids wear fine designer jewelry, pose in fishnets and weigh 90 lbs? Yeah, ours neither. We're trying to decide: is Paltrow's on the prowl to drum up Glee fans among Vanity Fair's adult female readers, or is this her way of reminding her celeb pals how elite -- and skinny -- she is? (Interesing aside from our pals at Celebitchy.com who point out that Paltrow's long-and-lean body is is the result of training with Tracy Anderson, whom cover girl Emma Stone slammed in this very same issue of Vanity Fair for ridiculously unrealistic diet and fitness plans for women.)
