Happy 40th Birthday, Eminem: Here Are Your Craziest Celebrity Disses in Song
He's Getting Older, But We Doubt That Means Eminem Will Stop Using His Rhymes to Diss His Fellow Celebs
On this day 40 years ago, a baby was born who would grow up to be one of the most popular musicians of all time. It's true … as Eminem, a.k.a. the baby born as Marshall Bruce Mathers III on Oct. 17, 1972, celebrates the big 4-0 today, he does so as one of the most popular musicians in the world, with more than 1 billion YouTube views and more than 61 million Facebook likes.
Vanilla Ice he ain't (though, of course, he's ripped on Ice in a rap), and while even his detractors have to admit he can come up with some pretty clever rhymes, sometimes he's, well, obnoxious. And offensive. And outrageous.
Whether it's poking fun at pop stars like Britney and The Biebs, namechecking dead celebrities and newsmakers or settling and creating celeb feuds, Marshall Mathers has been a master at the lyrical trash talk.
So, in honor of his 40th, we'll skip singing "Happy Birthday," and instead, quote some of his more infamous celeb-dissing song lyrics, accompanied by a photo-filled walk down Eminem memory lane.
Rihanna and Madonna
He's met Madonna and sung with Rihanna, but neither of them were safe from his lyrics in 2009's "Medicine Ball": "I'll pee on Rihanna, see man, I'll do what I wanna/Spray perfume in a sauna room, crazy gluing Madonna/To the La-Z-Boy sofa, fold her in two then sit on her/But the chick's so old, she looks like she outlived her life sentence."
