Have You Bought Mattel's 'Back To The Future' Hoverboard for Christmas?
"Note: Hoverboard Does Not Work On Water"
Back to the Future is coming back to the present. Toy-maker Mattel hasreleased full-scale replicas of the futuristic, floating hoverboards used by Michael J. Fox in the classic '80s movies.
Preview images of the "totally awesome" boards were released, showing the bright pink striped toys fantasized about by fans ever since 1989's Back to the Future II promised them by 2015.
But don't get your self-lacing Nike MAG kicks in a knot just yet: Mattel issued a bit of a disclaimer with the boards, saying they don't work on water and that, in fact, they don't actually "hover."

Who wouldn't want one of these sitting under the tree come Christmas day?.
Here's the full press release from Mattel, and below that is the famous clip of Marty McFly and his hoverboard in action from Back to the Future II.
"Back to the Future Hover Board: Finally! This totally awesome 1:1 replica of the hover board from the BTTF 2 and BTTF 3 films includes multiple whooshing sounds and will glide over most surfaces (does not actually "hover" -- check back in 2015 for that feature). We’ll be taking orders for it March 1 -- March 20, 2012, and the final product will be shipped around November/December 2012. Because this is such a high-cost item, there will be a minimum number of orders required to go into production. If we don't receive the minimum orders, won't go into production and customers will not be charged. The price will be announced later this month (Note: Hover board does not work on water.)"
