Hayden Panettiere Praised by PETA

Heroes star Hayden Panettiere has been praised by PETA for stepping in during filming of the new show to complain about the crew's treatment of some birds. The 19-year-old plays the role of cheerleader Claire Bennett in the hit US TV series.

She was on-set filming the next season of the show when a member of the crew tried to disperse some birds in a tree by using a leaf blower. Hayden reportedly said: "What are you doing? How would you like someone to blow that thing inside your house?" She reportedly made such a fuss that the crew moved the scene's location somewhere else. Hayden is also a vegetarian and has previously campaigned for dolphins in Japan. On the PETA website, it said: "Kudos to you, Hayden, for always standing up for what's right."
