Heidi Klum Now Officially Heidi Samuel
Klum's - er, Samuel's - name change granted Friday.
Recently we reported that darling Heidi Klum had filed a petition to change her name from Heidi Klum to Heidi Samuel in the interest of unifying her "patchwork family" and honoring tradition by taking her husband Seal's last name.
On Friday a New York City judge granted the name change, and the international TV host and supermodel formerly known as Heidi Klum is now officially Heidi Samuel.
Documents requesting the name change listed "marriage" as the reason for the request (valid enough, right?). Heidi and Seal married in 2005 and have three biological children together (Seal has also adopted Heidi's first daughter Leni, who's five). After Heidi gave birth to baby Lou in October, word hit the press that she was lobbying to change her name in order to give her family a sense of common identity. Heidi has said about their beautiful diversity, "We're all different shades and we came together and we all love each other...it's actually kind of nice to have a 'patchwork family'."
.
Reps have not confirmed yet whether Heidi will go by Heidi Samuel professionally. Speaking of Heidi Klum (Heidi Samuel?) professionally...did you hear she's back on the catwalk just six weeks after bearing baby Lou?
