A new report has just emerged via Nielsen Soundscan on Wednesday that -- huge shocker here -- Heidi Montag's album is bombing. Here are the ridiculous (hilarious) details.
How this young woman continues to lock in business deals is totally beyond us, but on the other hand it makes sense, as she's pumping her projects full of her own cash. Heidi Montag's album Superficial released on January 11, and so far it's sold less than 1,000 copies. Like, a lot less. Like, 658.
We have more Facebook friends than that.
Our contacts in the record business are finding this so hilarious that they can't even comment on how awful that is, but basically we can be pretty sure the album won't even make enough money to earn out the advance that Heidi Montag would have received if she were a talented enough singer to have received an advance. Enough said.
It's nearly three years that Heidi Montag has been in pursuit of a record deal, as she first started talking in 2007 about her album that was going to be "Madonna-meets-Gwen Stefani" (how freaking original). Heidi went to great lengths to make this album a smash, including hiring superstar British songwriter Cathy Dennis to pen "BlackOut," but Dennis said after working on just one song with Heidi that she wouldn't help her again because, as one report says, "things did not go as well as [Dennis] hoped they would." Still, Heidi had great faith in the album, saying, "I put every dollar I have into this. I've spent over $1 million, almost $2 million, on this album. It's cost as much or more than a Britney Spears album because I wanted it to be that quality... The songs will make an impact in pop history."
The only impact this album has made in pop history is that in one week, it became history. Hey Heidi, stop singing. And stop getting plastic surgery -- right here we have video of how you can't even move your face this week.
