Hip-Hop "Hollywood Squares" Coming Soon to MTV-2
Tic Tac Toe for the Hip-Hop Generation
MTV2 is rebooting the classic tic-tac-toe game show, The Hollywood Squares with a twist -- this incarnation will be called Hip-Hop Squares and instead of a random collection of C-list celebs and comedians, will feature 9 personalities from the wonderful world of hip hop.
According to EW.com, the cable net has lined up the following people (among others) to inhabit the 9 tic-tac-toe boxes; Nick Cannon; Jackass crew member Bam Margera; actress Kat Graham; artist DJ Khaled; rappers Biz Markie, Ghostface Killah, Fat Joe, Mac Miller and MGK and Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Lamarr Woodley.
Talk about a motley crue.
“They cross the spectrum from musicians and celebrities to athletes and causal fans of hip hop,” MTV2′s programming chief Paul Ricci said in a statement . “The show will refresh an iconic format and create a fun, dynamic series that’s unpredictable, heavy on personality and much more ‘party’ than ‘game show’.”
Fans can tune in for the first airing on Tuesday, May 22 at 11pm.
