New American Idol addition Ellen Degeneres

Omg! Omg! Omg! The hottest breaking news this week was the replacement of Paula Abdul on American Idol with talk show host/comedienne Ellen Degeneres. Talk about out of left field... who saw this coming?

I have to say, I'm ecstatic! I really thought Paula was irreplaceable-mostly cause I loved her random ramblings about absolutely nothing. It added something special to the show.... But Ellen? Ellen Degeneres?? HECK YEAH! I'm so pumped she's joining and I think she'll be incredible. Whoever masterminded this gets a big check plus.

It's raining babies in Hollywood! Okay, maybe it's not raining babies, but baby fever is in full swing this September. Nicole gave birth, Katherine's adopting, and Kendra had her baby shower.

Nicole Richie and long-time beau Joel Madden had a baby boy on Wednesday in the wee hours of the morning. Sparrow James Midnight Madden is the little one's adorable name. Big sister Harlow is almost two years older than her new little bro.

Mommy-to-be Katherine Heigl

Grey's Anatomy actress Katherine Heigl surprised everyone with the announcement that she and husband singer Josh Kelley were adopting. The couple is adopting a little girl with special needs from Korea. Heigl's sister was also adopted from Korea. Good for Heigl. I like her and she seems really excited about this.

I know it's not really NEWS per se, but Kendra Wilkinson had a baby shower this past weekend. Given all the baby buzz, I thought I'd include some deets from the gathering. Hugh and his new girlfriends attended the shingdig. Kendra's former Playmate BFF's Bridget Marquardt and Holly Madison also attended. In fact, Bridget baked the cupcakes for the pickles and candy-themed party. Sounds fun! I guess this was another case of my invitation getting lost in the mail.

- Lindsay Lohan was named Artistic Advisor of Emanuel Ungaro's fashion house this week. She'll work closely with the new head designer Estrella Archs and their first line will debut at Fashion Week in October. As you all know, I secretly love Lindsay, so I REALLY hope this line is incredible. (And perhaps her first step at a huge comeback!) My one piece of advice for her-STOP TWITTERING.

- Jennifer Aniston was spotted kissing co-star Gerard Butler. I'm 50/50 on this pairing...

- Singer Christina Milian surprised the music world when she and rapper The Dream got married this past weekend in Vegas. They walked down the aisle at The Little White Wedding Chapel, which you MIGHT remember is where Mr. Britney Spears married childhood friend Jason Alexander for a few hours back in the day.

- Dancing With The Stars couple Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy called it quits this week. While no reason has been given for the split, the two will have one last dance-they're performing at this year's Emmy Awards.

- Sex and the City 2 started filming in Manhattan this week! Carrie, Mr. Big, Miranda, Samantha, and Charlotte have all been spotted on set. At first, I wasn't excited about the sequel but once I saw the ladies filming, I realized I couldn't wait!

- Audrina Patridge posed for the October issue of Maxim and she may or may not have kept her top on. She does, however, eat some cake. And she looks cute. There, I said it.

- The October issue of Marie Claire features a bunch of photos of actresses Drew Barrymore and Ellen Page. Oh, and they're kissing. Each other. They're promoting their new flick, Whip It, in which they both star and Barrymore directs. But after that lead in, I'm pretty sure you've stopped listening.

- Guys, I love Sienna Miller. I think she's gorgeous and if you haven't already seen the cover of October's Vogue UK, get to it. She's absolutely stunning!
