Rihanna Breaks Her Silence
After months of silence, Rihanna opened up about that fateful evening earlier this year and her relationship with Chris Brown to Diane Sawyer this week. A small part of the interview was unveiled Thursday on Good Morning America and the main interview was broadcast Friday night on 20/20. Wearing a white dress with her blonde locks brushed straight back and the sides of her head shaved, Rihanna told her side of the story - and why she eventually ended things once and for all with the R&B singer.
Rihanna said it was the realization of how big a role model she is to make the final break with Chris Brown. She realized the message she was sending other women if she continued dating a man after getting so badly beaten. Rihanna also said she was embarrassed she ever fell in love with someone like that. At one point in the interview, the singer said, "F love," reminding women to step outside their abusive relationships and look at what is going on. On Friday night's 20/20, Rihanna told her story about what happened and how she felt and handled the aftermath. She also discussed the photo that was leaked by the LAPD showing her bruised face.
Chris Brown, in an attempt to defuse the situation, also gave an interview this week. He sat down with MTV for a MTV News special which aired Friday night. He recounted that February night when things got out of control-and what he's learned and experienced since.
Even though it's been many months since the assault took place, I'm very pleased Rihanna is opening up about what happened. She really is a role model for young women and opening up about what happened -and how she eventually was able to leave-helps other women in similar situations understand that they can leave too. Rihanna is a strong woman who should be commended for her bravery and openness-and at such a young age! Impressive.

Hollywood Snippets
- I don't know about you, but I just got super psyched for the Oscars next year. Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin are co-hosting the show! How amazing. These two guys are pros when it comes to quick wit and hosting duties. In fact, both have hosted SNL over 14 times each. That's the kind of resume I want for the people hosting the Oscars! (I would've been just as pumped to see Neil Patrick Harris snag these hosting duties as well. I'm guessing we''ll see him up there in the future...)
- Oopsies! Josh Duhamel has been accused of cheating on Fergie with an Atlanta-based stripper. Nicole Forrester claims she met the actor working at the Tattletale Strip Club and they ended up in his hotel room where they proceeded to spend the night together. Earlier this week, a polygraph expert confirmed that a lie detector test Forrester took proves she's telling the truth. Duhamel and Fergie deny it all. It sure will be interesting to see how this one plays out. I really like them...

- Linsday Lohan and her father Michael Lohan were at it again this week. Apparently Lindsay's father taped phone conversations with her, edited out his part of the conversation, and then released the audio to the media. And then said it was to help her. If this truly is what happened, I am appalled he did that. I mean, we've known for awhile that Michael Lohan is a weird dude but this is just too much. I've heard of celebrities selling out their kids for their own minute of fame, but really this seems extreme and awful. I'm NOT a fan of this guy.
- If you haven't already seen it, check out the December issue of Harper's Bazaar. The cover features an incredible picture of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson... it is HOT! And so are the photos inside.
- Hot off the publication of controversial photos in last month's Details magazine, American Idol superstar Adam Lambert and his boyfriend have called it quits. Wonder if the explosive photos had anything to do with it!
