Hollywood Hacker Sentenced to 10 Years in Jail

Scarlett Johansson and Other Celebs Can Rest Easy Now

Today a federal judge sentenced the so-called "Hollywood Hacker" to ten years in prison for having hacked the phones of famous female celebrities and posting revealing photographs on the Internet.

Christina Aguilera, Scarlett Johansson, Mila Kunis and some 50 other women can rest a little bit easier now that Christopher Chaney, 35, has been sentenced to ten years behind bars.

"I don't know what to say other than I'm sorry," Chaney said today following the sentencing. "I could be sentenced to never use a computer again and I wouldn't care. Prosecutors, who were seeking a 6 year prison stint were surprised by the term set forth by U.S. District Judge S. James Otero. His reasoning? Otero thought that Chaney might not be able to control his compulsion and thought that he had shown "callous disregard" for his behavior.

In a videotaped statement, Johansson, whose had revealing photos intended for her then husband Ryan Reynolds plastered all over the web, said "I have been truly humiliated and embarrassed. I find Christopher Chaney's actions to be perverted and reprehensible."

Aguilera said in a statement that "the feeling of security can never be given bacj and there is no compensation that can restore the feeling one has from such a large invasion of privacy."

Another victim, an actress/singer named Renee Olstead told Judge Otero that she had contemplated killing herself for the first time in her life after Chaney leaked compromising photos of her.  "I just really hope this doesn't happen to someone else. You can lose everything because of the actions of a stranger."

Back in October of 2011, Chaney was arrested by the FBI after a yearlong "Operation Hackerazzi" investigation.
