How "Bath Salts" Make You Feel: I Thought I Was Jason From 'Friday the 13th'
This Is the Same Drug That Made That Naked Guy in Miami Chew a Homeless Guy's Face Off
It sounds like such a nice, relaxing thing, but don't let the name "bath salts" fool you. Not only is the drug likely involved in the shocking attack in Miami, in which a man ate the face off a homeless guy, but a recent bath salts overdose victim says the drug is so "evil" it made him feel like Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th.
"It felt so evil," says 27-year-old Tennessee resident Freddy Sharp. "It felt like the darkest, evilest thing imaginable.
"It felt like impending doom was coming down on me," says Sharp in a CNN interview. "I felt like I was about to bust loose and actually hurt somebody."
Sharp says he no longer uses bath salts, and that, despite how drastic his reaction to them was, he never felt like he wanted to eat another human. But he says bath salts did make him feel invincible. "You feel like you're 10 feet tall and bulletproof," he says, "and you actually do not feel any pain."
Other reports of bath salts use match Sharp's description. In addition to the possible link of the drug to the Miami cannibal case, CNN reports last year police in Panama City, Florida said a woman who used the drug tried to behead her mother, while a man who had used bath salts tried to chew up the back seat of a police car.
Sharp says his overdose, which was captured on video, was his turning point in bath salts use, as it made him feel like "impending doom was coming down on me … I felt like I was about to bust loose and actually hurt somebody."

Sharp, who says getting off the drug was also harsh ("whenever it comes out of you, you can smell it in your hair. It's so nasty … (an) unclean, nasty, unkempt, chemically-type smell) has a few words of advice for those using or thinking of using bath salts.
"The only thing I can say to them is that if you value your life, you'll stop it and you won't do it anymore, because it will destroy your life. It will destroy your family. It will destroy everything."
