College Candy always has something to say about Cosmo, mostly about how ridiculous some of their articles are. Usually I just cut to the chase and read their "Cosmo Say" features without the actual magazine, but thanks to my new gifted subscription, I was giggling before I even reached CC. It was an exceptionally funny issue, especially when they break down guy's body language. Let's just say...they actually want you to use flash cards.
Please, we beg of you, do NOT rip out these cheat sheets and use them on a date. If you have to actually reference them while out with a guy, we can guarantee you that it's going badly. Also, we think that looking at flash cards is way more rude than texting at dinner.
But on to the meat. Cosmo said this month that if a guy is enjoying his date, he will make an "OK" sign with his hand, and if he's not, he'll flip you off somehow. College Candy said that it's not exactly a casual move to begin with, and that it's hard to imagine someone working this into date time. We agree. Plus, if you do any dating in an international pool, you'll realize that the "OK" sign doesn't always mean okay (it sometimes even means screw you). In other words, skip this body language test, because it's way too subtle, too testy, and possibly wrong. Oh yeah, and he'll also try to form the sign language symbol for love while "doing random things." Suuure.
My favorite, however, was one that CC did not touch on-- how a man stands when he wants to be approached. According to Cosmo's flash card (!), he'll "unknowingly position his body so that his package is as visible as possible." Is this true? Someone, please follow up. Apparently, guys can even take it to the next level by putting on foot up on a stool and "let[ting] his crotch take center stage." Cosmo, I love you, but you confuse me. I am going to be looking in all the wrong places when I hit the bar with the hubby, and it's their fault.
