How to Prepare Your Vagina For Winter
Yes, We're Talking To You
We prepare our closets, our homes and our cars for winter...but what about our lady parts? Did you not think it was necessary? Yeah, neither did we - but it turns out we're all wrong, according to certain experts.
The reason? Our vaginas apparently don't like the cold. Well, at least the layers and layers of clothes we put on to stave it off. Apparently, wrapping it up in tight, synthetic clothing makes it more likely to develop abnormalities like yeast infections.
Fear not, though! Protecting yourself is pretty easy. For one thing, eating more yogurt, which is rich in probiotics, can help. "Probiotics help keep your gut healthy and protect you from yeast," gynecologist Sara Gottfried explains. Sauerkraut, too, can do the trick she adds. (Although we suggest brushing your teeth straight after if you want the guy you're seeing to be interested in your nether regions in the first place!)

Another solution: when it comes to your underpants, keep it cotton. Although lace and nylon may feel sexy, they don't allow any air in, making the vagina much more likely to pick up an infection. To help prevent that from happening, Gottfriend recommends organic cotton only.

Take care of your vagina this winter and, chances are, you'll attract someone to keep you warm all year ‘round.
