Ian McKellen to Star in TV Sitcom, 'Vicious Old Queens'
Ian McKellen Joins Gay Brit Sitcom
File this under things you'd never imagine celebrated actor Sir Ian McKellan would do: a sitcom.
While that sounds like a strange gig to take, consider that the British sitcom will be about two older gay gentlemen who live together in London.
Also, consider the title, Vicious Old Queens, and it sounds like a pretty golden role for McKellen's resume.

McKellen will co-star with Sir Derek Jacobi, who is a theater actor in Britain, as well as a founding member of the Royal National Academy.
With two respected actors on board and a kick-ass show name, what's not to love?
A producer behind the hit U.S. sitcom Will & Grace, Gary Janetti, is set to write the series, which will air in Britain in April.

Jacobi said of the show, "It will be lovely to work with Ian as we have never done anything like this together before."
Oh please, let Vicious Old Queens come to U.S. television (or Netflix?) soon!
