One of our very favorite things about fashion is that we're allowed to change our minds. Once horrified by all animal print apparel, we're slowly coming around. If you're like us and just getting into the whole animal print thing, start with a simple pair of animal print flats.

Animal prints can be hard to get just right. They're way too easy to overdo and look like you belong in the zoo. But with subtle animal print touches, you can easily take your look to the next level. Our favorite way to add on the animal prints in a subtle manner is to stick with a simple pair of animal print flats.

Choose your animal and then choose your flats. Because flats are subtle to begin with, you can get as wild as you want when it comes to the print. You might decide to choose a simple leopard print. Or you might go full-on zebra, with sequins involved. And that's totally OK because the flats will simply work to draw one's eye down and won't consume your whole look.

Just make sure the rest of your outfit is fairly low-key when you go with the animal print flats. No wearing bold patterns (especially clashing patterns); it's best to stick with solid colors that complement the print. Of course, you could also go with an animal print heel, but we find flats are the safest way to start your animal print safari.

If you're still skeptical about rocking animal print flats, head over to TheFind.com and check out their mega selection. And then imagine how the flats will take an otherwise boring outfit and make it pop!
