Is Mariah Carey Pregnant?

She has a special surprise

Mariah Carey alluded to a special surprise planned for the future in a recent interview, and she has us hooked. Who knew that Mariah Carey could bait us so efficiently? While we were wondering if she were pregnant, we think that she could also be planning a special musical release or collaboration sometime soon. What do you think?

Our curiosity was piqued after Mariah Carey tottered around backstage after the Film Independent Spirit Awards, spilling info about her future projects/plans. It looked like she had an interesting night: wearing skyscraper heels, she was seen accidentally stabbing herself in the foot with her 8-inch spikes, and she even got picked up at the stage in a limo instead of taking an elevator like the rest of the stars.

Before Mariah announced her news, she was heard giggling ‘I don't know if I can do this!' prior to going up on stage. She was also propped up by her minders, thanks at least in part to her wickedly short black dress + stilettos.

Appearing without her husband after the awards, Mariah started talking to various media reps backstage. She even told Page Six about that special "surprise" we mentioned, claiming "I have a lot of new acting projects coming up. I am talking to [Precious director Lee Daniels] about at least three movies. But there's also something else very special on the way. I can't say any more."

Is Mariah finally pregnant? Who knows. I'm betting that she was just trying to be coy with her audience, and that the "surprise" is far from a baby... maybe a collaboration of sorts? However, since Nick Cannon is crazy to have kids with Mariah, we're going to put her on renewed bump watch for a time.
