Michael Phelps Dating Model Megan Rossee, Friends Fear He's Being Used

Shocker; Michael Phelps' new girlfriend is absolutely gorgeous -- he finally paraded her about publicly at the Speedo Athlete Celebration in London.

Phelps' girlfriend, Megan Rossee, made her red carpet debut, but even though she's quite the looker, the model/cocktail waitress has Phelps' friends worried.

A source close to Phelps tells Radaronline.com, "Michael is like a puppy dog around Megan -- he's completely in love with her," adding, "However, like any young girl hoping to make it in Hollywood, she's ambitious and knows that by associating herself with Michael she will get a lot of press herself."

The source noted, "She's desperate for her own fame -- her career has been a slow-burner but this will certainly accelerate it.

Another insider tells RadarOnline, "Michael adores everything about Megan, she's athletic, makes him laugh and she's obviously drop dead gorgeous. But what happens when the buzz of the Olympics dies down and life goes back to normal? Will she want to date a retired swimmer?"

The 25-year-old Rossee posted this on her Model Mayhem profile: "I am super easy going and pretty much down for any type of project (that doesn't involve nudity."

She added, "I love what I do and hope to further my career as a model as well as a performer."

Hmm ... is there something telling in there that makes it sound like she may be using Phelps to further her career?

Maybe. Maybe not. You could definitely read into her statement and connect the dots to her high profile relationship with Phelps.

Phelps and Rossee have reportedly been dating since January.
