Izzie Designs Grey's Anatomy Wedding Web Site

It's gonna be a primetime wedding.

Like every famous celeb couple who gets married nowadays, Grey's Anatomy characters Meredith Grey and Derek Shepherd have a website dedicated to their wedding. But this site is a little different than the others. It's run and written by a fellow fictional character, Dr. Izzie Stevens.

The idea came to series creator Shonda Rhimes as she watched scenes of Izzie taking pictures of Meredith in a wedding dress. "I said, 'it should feel like a real wedding website!'" she exclaimed afterwards.

Run by the bride and wedding site theknot.com, "Mer-Der's" page has already hosted thousands of visitors eager to catch a glimpse of their favorite show's upcoming event. But no one seems to be more excited than Izzie herself.

"I know. I know," she says in a greeting. "I secretly never thought it would happen either. But it's real. ... This is going to be the most magical, romantic, breath-taking wedding you've ever seen. I promise."
