Jack Nicholson's Temper Cost Him His First Career

To be sure, Jack Nicholson doesn't seem like the most even-tempered guy. (They didn't cast him in "Anger Management" by accident.)
But did you know that his anger issues cost him his first career choice?

Early in his acting career, Nicholson reportedly worked as a short order cook in New Jersey, but got angry with a customer who complained about his cooking.
Nicholson told The Sun, "One day, a woman came in to ask for pancakes and my pancake came out about three inches thick. She said, 'What the hell is this?' I lost my temper, hit the pancake and said, 'Make your own damn pancakes!'"
He was clearly not have familiar with the saying, "the customer is always right," but admits, "Anger has always been a problem and every once in a while I just have to let it out. I always regret it later. After a couple of hours I calm down and think, 'What way could I have solved that problem other than blowing up?'" (Those of you who've seen "Five Easy Pieces" and recall the hilarious diner scene should get an extra kick out of this story.)
In other Nicholson news, he's decided that his years as a womanizer are officially over.
At age 75, you've got to let that Casanova stuff start to wane a bit.
He explains, ''I no longer have the energy to both work and fool around. So the last few movies I've done, I have hardly left the hotel at nights. It was completely different when we were making The Shining."
