Jake got the octopus off his head?

With the news of Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllanhaal's split comes... Jake's spot on Sesame Street? OK, so it may sound harmless and all, but once you see it, you'll realize that the lesson Jake is trying to teach kids is a little bit ironic.

Poor Jake and Reese! This is one couple I really, really liked and I was hoping they'd find a way to make it work. But like most relationships, it sounds like Jake and Reese's has ended (though, don't get me wrong, I'm totally hoping for a reconciliation). And making matters worse is Jake Gyllenhaal's brand new spot on Sesame Street. The clip was filmed months ago, but Sesame Street producers have decided to air it now.

That probably wouldn't be a big deal except for the fact that Jake is trying to teach kids about the word "separate." Right when he has separated from Reese Witherspoon. The clip features Jake with an octopus on his head. He wants the octopus off his head so he tells it about the word "separate." It takes a lot of effort to separate the octopus from Jake's head, but it finally works. Not without a lot of pain involved, however.

I really hope this is nothing like the conversation Jake and Reese had when they were breaking up. Chances are, most kids won't know about Jake's recent breakup, but gosh, the irony is just too much.
