Jennifer Aniston Dreamed Of Being a Micro-Surgeon
Jennifer Aniston could easily have starred in her own real-life ER if she hadn't gone into acting, the actress reveals. In an interview Elle, 40-year-old Aniston revealed that if she hadn't made it big in Hollywood, she would have liked to have gone into medicine.
"My dream would be to become a micro-surgeon because those [operations], with the intense focus and detail… completely fascinate me," the Marley & Me star said. "When I watch Trauma: Life In The ER and other reality shows where… the doctor basically shoves her finger into [the wound] to keep the blood from spurting out – I could easily do that stuff." Aniston also revealed that the woman who got her break on one of the most popular television sitcoms of all time, wasn't allowed to watch TV when she was growing up. "I wasn't allowed to watch TV as a child," the former Friends star said. "So I had to sneak it…” However, when she was allowed to watch TV it was usually with her father, the actor John Aniston. “The two things I was eventually allowed to watch… were 60 Minutes [a current affairs series] and documentary medical programmes, because they were educational. "So I would watch [operations] while eating dinner."
