"Patricia Hewitt, beloved mother of actress Jennifer Love Hewitt and Dr. Todd Hewitt passed away (Tuesday) at age 67 from complications due to cancer," The Client List star's rep said in a statement released to the media. "Her family mourns her loss. She was an angel to all who knew her and they are grateful she is now in a better place."
Patricia Hewitt was a speech-language pathologist who moved with her daughter -- and now doctor son Todd -- from Texas to Los Angeles nearly 20 years ago, so Jennifer Love Hewitt could pursue her Hollywood career.
JLH was attending the Monte Carlo Television Festival this week, and flew back to Los Angeles on Tuesday.

Despite her willingness to talk about almost any topic in public, Hewitt had kept her mother's illness private.
But she did joke about her very public life, and how, through it all, her mom was her biggest supporter.
"'So let's review … For 15 years people have been talking about your boobs,'" JLH said her mom joked. "'Earlier this year, you wrote about your hoo haw in a book. Now you're playing a crack ho on TV.' She was like, 'Do you think maybe you could do an animated movie next?'"
