Jessica Simpson Speaks Out About Weight Issue
Or non-issue. Or not really about anything...
Day Four of the "Jessica Simpson is fat fiasco," and we're all getting a little punchy. We've had the pictures, the commentary, the defense of the lady by her family, and the commentary of a random Kardashian on the subject. But where is Jessica? Where is she hiding? Will she not come to her own defense?
Turns out, no she will not. Not that she has to in the least.
But she did issue a minor statement late last night about nothing in particular, but thanking her fans for their support. What did she say exactly?
Taking the stage in Virginia, for the first time since her big chili cook-off mom-jeans nightmare began, Jessica complained about the "completely pointless" attention, and said:
"Thank you for your support. Stay positive, and pray out loud! I love you guys, good night." Though she did not specifically mention the outrage over her poundage in any of this, she added:
"Please remember, no matter what you go through in life, somebody else might have it harder."
The crowd was enthusiastic in their support, and the overwhelming consensus seemed to be that if Tony Romo was happy, we should be too. Because we all know the boyfriend's opinion of your weight is the final word on the subject. That was sarcasm, in case you were curious.
And for the record, she did not wear mom-jeans during this announcement, opting for tight leather pants. Oh Jess, no.
What will Day Five of this crisis yield? Perhaps a soundbite on the subject from Prez Obama? Some manner of Elisabeth Hasselbeck nightmare of a quote on Jessica's weight? Time will tell, time will tell.
