Jessica Simpson and Jeremy Renner Get Flirty

But Renner is still taking his mom to the Oscars.

With Jessica Simpson back in the news (thank you, smart alecky John Mayer) she hit up the Oprah circuit this week. So did Jeremy Renner, who's up for Best Actor at the Oscars on Sunday for his jolting performance in The Hurt Locker. Coincidentally Simpson and Renner were at the same pre-Oscars party Wednesday night, where it's said they flirted "up a storm" and exchanged phone numbers.

Jessica Simpson and Jeremy Renner were both at a party thrown by Madonna's manager Guy Oseary for The Hurt Locker in L.A. From the moment they first crossed paths, it's said Simpson and Renner were blatantly into each other ("Jeremy spent the night hitting on Jessica like crazy," a source told People.com), laughing and "flirting up a storm." It's said they were seen furiously exchanging phone numbers at the end of the night.

Meanwhile our friends at Celebitchy had a shocking report on Wednesday that Jeremy Renner is actually dating rumoredly-rebounding Charlize Theron. Incredible!
