Jim Carrey Back Onboard for 'Dumb and Dumber' Sequel
Co-Star Jeff Daniels Hopes for 2013 Release
He may play a savvy network anchor on HBO's Newsroom, but Jeff Daniels is looking forward to dumbing things down...way down. In a new interview, Daniels confirms that both he and Jim Carrey are looking forward to shooting the long awaited sequel to Dumb and Dumber next year.
The movie about two less-than-intelligent brothers, directed by Peter and Bobby Farrelly and released in 1994, quickly became a comedy cult classic. A follow-up has been in the works for years, but Carrey has been cagey about his participation, even dropping out completely at one point because he thought the film's producers weren't excited enough about the project.
"I would have thought Dumb and Dumber Two was a no-brainer," Carrey said in a statement to Entertainment Tonight. "After all, it's implied in the title."

Now, however, Daniels confirms the whole gang is back onboard. "We almost were able to kinda get it done this year, but they're still working on the script. Jim wants to do it, I want to do it, the Farrellys want to do it. We're all hoping that it'll come together early next year," said Daniels.
